House of June’s Telephone is a colorful peek into the drama of four friends trying to communicate through the stop-and-go format of call waiting. Caught in the middle is Toya, a matriarchal hairdresser, who gets more than an earful when she tries to renege on a drug deal while simultaneously advising her impulsive girlfriend on the hazards of falling in love too quickly.
